The system is fully automated and highly versatile, and is based on the fact that cellular events can be monitored in real time without the incorporation of labels, using impedance measurements. Human liver and kidney cells can also be tested. Cell proteins influenced by drug application, on the other hand, can be studied using the xCELLigence-RTCA-HT system.

Long-term toxicity screening with xCELLigence system Featured
The European joint venture DETECTIVE under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Jürgen Hescheler has been given methodological support by the ROCHE concern. The development of the xCELLigence-RTCA-cardio system makes it possible to investigate toxicological effects of products and ingredients in human heart cells in long-term toxicity tests.
