Freie Universität Berlin: PharMetrX Training Program enters the second round Featured

PharMetrX is a collaborative, structured research training program between Free University Berlin (Clinical Pharmacy) and the University of Potsdam (Mathematics & Systems Biology) that bridges the gap between pharmacy and mathematics.

In PharMetrX research projects, participants use experimental and clinical data to investigate the relationships between applied dosage, drug concentrations (including the site of action), and the resulting effects and therapeutic outcomes. Knowledge of mechanisms of drug effects - both desired and undesirable - in biological networks and of disease development in different spatial and temporal resolution in the body is included. These so-called silico models of pharmacometry are becoming increasingly important: Such models allow to understand the interaction between drug-patient disease and thus the occurrence of desired and undesirable effects as well as the progression of the disease and the influence of patient factors. This should be used, above all, to predict them in a mechanism-based manner.

Applications can still be submitted until 15th of September 2018. start is 1st of March 2019.
