The Netherlands: Lymph-on-a-Chip to study the immune system Featured

The hDMT (human Organ and Disease Model Technologies) research consortium at Leiden University has inserted a functioning lymphatic vessel into an organ-on-a-chip system. This means that the technology of replicating human organs in miniature has now advanced a significant step further.

The model is suitable not only for studying the immune response of human organs but also for investigating the function of the lymphatic system, as this has an impact on various diseases.

The hDMT consortium consists of a foundation and 14 different partner organizations from technical universities, medical centers, and researchers from various disciplines in the Netherlands.
