Berlin: New strategy for a joint campus of biotechnology and medical technology for Charité and TU Berlin Featured

The Charité - Universitätsmedizin Berlin and the Technical University of Berlin are planning to establish a strategic partnership to develop a new joint research campus in Berlin-Wedding.


There, scientists from various disciplines will work side by side to simulate the different functions of the of human cells and tissues. The research building, called "The Simulated Man" (Si-M, der simulierte Mensch), will provide space for the latest technologies, such as high-resolution analysis of individual cells or cultivation of tissues in organ-on-a-chip systems. This research topic will make an important contribution on the way to the establishment of new diagnostic and therapeutic methods and also contribute to the avoidance of animal experiments.

At the press event, the partners will report on their joint plans and present possible research topics.
