Scientists from many countries will present their latest findings in the field of nanomedicine and in vitro methods for studying biological barriers such as the intestine, skin and lungs. The question as to how the skin barrier can be overcome so as to allow a substance to reach the desired target location will also be discussed, and the latest technologies will be presented, for instance a computer model of the skin barrier. Another topic is mucus/mucosa and surfactant as barriers for drug delivery through lungs, intestines and cheeks.
Three lab courses are being offered in conjunction with the conference.
