Researchers at the RCSI University of Medicine and Health Sciences in Dublin, Ireland, have developed an artificial model of the mitral valve that faithfully replicates the valve’s complex mechanical behavior in the human heart. The study could help researchers better understand heart valve diseases and develop new treatment approaches.
