TVT speaks out against animal experimentation law Featured

In an open letter dated April 9 to the relevant ministers, the Veterinary Association for Animal Welfare (TVT) expressed its criticism of the plan to remove laboratory animals from the Animal Welfare Act and incorporate them into a separate animal experimentation law.

According to the TVT Working Group “Animals in Research,” the protection of laboratory animals under the Animal Welfare Act needs to stay in place without any restrictions and must not be undermined or even weakened by a special legal status—especially not in light of the state’s goal of animal welfare, which is enshrined in the Basic Law.
