The machine enables the cultivation of human tissue models that can be used in preclinical research to test the efficacy and safety of new drugs. This could not only drastically reduce the number of required animal tests, but also significantly lower the costs and time needed for drug development.
The results of the validation study with OFI were convincing and showed that the robot-based models meet high international standards.
