As one of the responses to the European Citizens' Initiative to end animal testing, the European Commission has decided to create a dynamic catalog of “interim initiatives”. The transition means to move from animal testing to animal-free testing of Chemicals.
The Commission is calling for contributions from stakeholders or teams of stakeholders (e.g. from science, industry, EU agencies, member state authorities, or NGOs). It welcomes input from any initiative that directly or indirectly contributes to the replacement or reduction of animal testing in the safety assessment of chemicals. This may concern a planned approach, activities or results already achieved or expected.
