Many NAMs are based on cell culture methods which have in common that animal-derived products, such as fetal calf serum (FCS), are often used despite the fact, that the use of FCS is accompanied by major ethical and scientific concerns.

The researchers are going to publish a row of contributions that address the scientific concerns. The goal is to make researchers' use alternatives to FCS.
