The Charité - University Medicine Berlin and the Technical University Berlin are developing a new joint research campus in Berlin-Wedding. The project is called "Der simulierte Mensch" (The simulated human being). Starting in 2023, around 33 junior research groups with 150 junior scientists from Charité and TU Berlin will simulate the function of human cells and tissues. However, currently, only 34 millions euros have been raised for the construction of the building. The researchers are convinced that 10 millions more funds will have been collected for equipment and research groups and that there will be a graduate college by the end of 2023.
