Ursula M. Händel Animal Welfare Prize 2018 Featured

For the seventh time, the German Research Foundation (DFG) wants to award the Ursula M. Händel Animal Welfare Prize to those scientists who are considered to have made exemplary and sustained efforts to improve the welfare of animals in research. The prize is endowed with up to 100,000 euros.

Scientists who are particularly concerned with promoting animal welfare in science and research can be honoured with this prize. The prize can be awarded for completed projects as well as promising ongoing work.

The animal welfare prize is endowed with up to 100,000 euros. It can be divided into several prize winners.
