    PhD student (m/f)


    The Research Group of In Vitro Toxicology and Dermato-Cosmetology (IVTD) of the Department of Pharmaceutical and Pharmacological Sciences and the Research Group of Organic Chemistry (ORGC) of the Departments of Chemistry and Bioengineering Sciences of the Vrije Universiteit Brussel (VUB) are looking for a motivated PhD student (m/f) to support their experimental drug development research.

    Job description

    * You will be involved in an innonative research project focused on the production and testing of pannexin peptidomimetics as novel therapeutics for the treatment of liver disease.
    * You will perform chemical synthesis and optimization of peptidomimetics (ORGC).
    * You will perform cell cultivation experiments and molecular biology analyses (IVTD).
    * Your scientific work should result in several manuscripts published in internationals peer-reviewed journals and a PhD thesis in pharmaceutical sciences.
    * You will assist to a minimal extent in the organization of practical courses for students in bachelor and master in pharmaceutical sciences.
  • Qualifikationen:


    Profile

    * You have a master degree in pharmaceutical sciences, chemistry, (bio)medical sciences, bioengineering sciences or equivalent.
    * You are a dynamic and flexible person.
    * You are able to work independently, yet as a team member, and accurately.
    * You have excellent presentation and communication skills both written and oral.
    * You have a good knowledge of the English language both written and oral.
