The project, called "Ocular DynaMiTES", is funded by the Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF) with 321,000 euros. An artificial cornea should be used as a model to reliably test drugs for application to the eye. The second project is called "NasaMuc", a joint project with the company InSCREENeX. Here, a nasal mucosa model is being researched in order to test new dosage forms and to achieve a higher efficacy of drugs. For this project, the Technical University Braunschweig will receive a funding of 390,000 euros from the Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF).
The funding is provided within the framework of the Federal Ministry of Education and Research's funding priority "Alternative methods to the animal experiment" for three years.
